Alejandra & Brandon | Engagement

I always love it when my photography life and my a cappella life collide. This time, a Note sister (by relation) reached out to me ! Alejandra’s older sister, Adrianna, was in my a cappella group in college. So I was beyond excited when Alejandra sent me an email.

Alejandra and Brandon met in August of 2011. Brandon just got back from his first deployment with the Navy. That’s right, A NAVY MAN ! Their first date was at a restaurant called Chadwicks in Old Town Alexandria. However, neither Brandon nor Alejandra lived in Alexandria. At the time, Alejandra was at GMU and Brandon was stationed with the Navy in Virginia Beach. They’ve endured a long distance relationship for 3 years (including a 9 month deployment) before finally being able to live in the same town !

We planned to meet at Great Falls Park, right on the boarder between MD and VA. It just so happens that on Jully 3, 2015, Brandon proposed to Alejandra at Great Falls while they were both hiking. A couple that hikes together stays together, am I right?

You guys, this park. . . is amazing !!!! So many sights to see, waterfalls to admire, forests to wander through, and cliffs to perch on. . . but we’ll get to that later.

I arrived a little before Alejandra and Brandon did so I could scout locations and wander around the park a little.

I’m telling you. . . these views are amazing !  Alejandra and Brandon arrived and were ready to shoot ! Our first location was right next to the river, with some nice, soft backlighting  We then strolled down the path a bit and (adventurously) climbed the side of a cliff  After our death defying photos on the edge, we moved to a nearby grove of trees. The sunlight was streaming through the branches, casting a beautiful array of light and shadows.  what can i say ? I’m a sucker for soft light  . . .and kisses ! while Alejandra and Brandon went to change, I got to do a few detail shots with the ring !!  I love the cut ! Beautiful !!! we met back up in the forest for some more photos  werk ! gosh, they are so darn attractive !   the sun was beginning to set on our beautiful, Great Falls day 

I can’t wait to see these two again in June ! Oh, and Adrianna will be there too !!
